Mycle Brandy is a unique performer who draws from some of the great entertainers of today and yesterday. While soul and blues are his first loves, he began his career doing jazz and pop in some of the finest clubs in the Midwest. Mycle doesn't sing music; he presents a musical experience because he has lived it. Touted as a singer that mixes the best of "Tom Jones, David Clayton-Thomas, [and] Michael McDonald" in the Orange County Register of April 17, 1989, Mycle was honored to have Take Mine, "a soulful ballad", according to Valerie Takahama from the Register, included in the sound track of the movie "Disorganized Crime", starring Corbin Bernsen and Lou Diamond Phillips, released that same year.
Audiences from across the USA, Mexico and Canada have been amazed and enthralled by Mycle's ability to captivate and hold their undivided attention during his soulful and energetic performances.
While Mycle spent most of his career based out of Palm Springs, CA, it has been his privilege to perform with such great entertainers as Kenny Rogers, Mort Sahl, George Carlin, The Olympics, The Coasters, Ray Peterson, Sam Butera and the Witnesses, Dionne Warwick, Marla Gibbs, Cheech and Chong, Woody Herman and Lori Rogers in great venues from around the country.
Mycle is now based out of Orange County, California, and recently completed his new CD, Unlike a Rose, that has a conglomerate of original and his favorite copy tunes. This CD also includes the highly praised single Stay With Me expected to make the charts soon.
Featured with Mycle on his current CD are Grammy-nominated Tom Keene, John Hunt, Dave Coy, Dave Spur, and world renown saxophonist Dave Thomasson.
Music is the universal language of humankind and Mycle Brandy's interpretations come directly from his heart and soul. Mycle's voice succinctly bridges the gap between the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and of all the great ages of music.
